Office Manager & HIPAA Compliance Officer

  • Not only is she our Office Manager & The HIPAA Compliance Officer, she is also the amazing wife of Dr Damon Hill for 42 yrs. As well as the mother to Dr Joshua G Hill.

  • She is the lady behind the scenes who manages the business aspect of things,

  • Stephanie has also picked up a part time subbing job at Dunbar Middle School.

  • She too is a very active member of the community, serving with the Lubbock Community Ushers. 

  • You may remember her as the campaign manager for District 2 City Council woman Sheila Patterson Harris.

  • We admire how she tells it like it is, and is always ready and willing to help someone in need. 

  • She has her BS in Health Education from Texas Woman's University.

  • She has her Associate's Degree for Dental Hygiene from University of Texas Dental Houston Branch,

  • Former Provider Relations Rep with TMHP.

​Why do we have a HIPAA Compliance Officer?

​

  • The Healthcare Insurance Portability and Accountability Act requires that a person (or persons) within a Covered Entity or Business Associate is assigned the duties of a HIPAA Compliance Officer. 

​

The Duties of a HIPAA Privacy Officer:

​

  • A HIPAA Privacy Officer is responsible for developing a HIPAA-compliant privacy program.

  • Also must ensure that the privacy policies to protect the integrity of PHI are enforced.

  • He or she will deliver or oversee ongoing employee privacy training, conduct risk assessments and develop HIPAA-compliant procedures where necessary.

  • A HIPAA Privacy Officer will have to monitor compliance with the privacy program, investigate incidents in which a breach of PHI may have occurred.

  • Report breaches as necessary, and ensure patients´ rights in accordance with state and federal laws.

  • In order to fulfill the duties of a HIPAA Privacy Officer, the appointed person will have to keep up-to-date with relevant state and federal laws.
